Automated Electrophoresis system MAESTRO 101

m101_2014_front_total

In-house development
The automated electrophoresis unit MAESTRO 101 is a new development from BIOTEC-FISCHER, utilising the most modern technology. The MAESTRO 101 is designed for a long operational life and safe, reliable, problem-free use during hard, continuous operation.

Compact, robust and low-maintenance
The MAESTRO operates with a compact, robust and extremely reliable mechanism, which is confined to a minimum of moving parts. This makes the MAESTRO 101 compact in its dimensions. Maintenance costs for the user are minimised. All relevant components are easily accessible and easy to clean.

Different methods
The most commonly used electrophoresis methods can be carried out with the MAESTRO 101: serum proteins, lipoproteins, alc.Hemoglobins and urines.

Economical
The MAESTRO 101 requires only a small amount of consumable material per run, making it very economical to use. The MAESTRO 101 processes the development of 8 samples automatically within approx. 50 minutes.

Easy to operate
The MAESTRO 101 can be easily and safely operated. All necessary instructions are given via the display, where current status is also displayed. The required method can be selected and started up with a simple use of electronical potentiometer. Patients' data and corrections are entered via an external TurboScan Densitometer system.

Reproducible results
By eliminating manual sources of error and with its precise mechanism, the MAESTRO 101 guarantees extremely reproducible steps.

Delivery details
The MAESTRO is supplied as a complete unit prepared for serum protein electrophoresis (microapplication) together with power cable and product manual.

Tank Model 2020K

The electrophoresis chamber model 2020K is an universal system for serum protein, lipoprotein, and Haemoglobine electrophoresis. Up to 20 samples can be electrophoretically separated simultaneously. As a safety precaution, lifting the lid immediately stops the supply of electric current. This guarantees a high degree of safety for the user. The two connecting cables are permanently fitted to the cover of the chamber, ensuring that they are never mixed up and the user cannot touch live parts. As accessories bridges for agarose gels are available.

Power supply EV2650

ev1450

Electrophoresis power supply

Electrophoresis power supplies EV series can be run either in manual mode or in automated mode by using up to 9 different programs. The manual mode allows to set voltage, current, power and time for a routine electrophoresis run. Parameters can be changed temporarily without interrupting the run. Up to 9 different programs, each with 9 steps, of frequently used parameters can be stored in the non-volatile memory for future recall. Reads voltage in 1 V steps, current in 1 mA steps and power in 1 W steps. Each step is able to recall a next one, providing a flexible multiple step function for special techniques. Parameters of the running step can be changed temporarily without interrupting the run. The method mode also allows to program a linear voltage gradient for any step provided the limiting current or power is not attained. Timer or volt-hour controlled operation is a useful standard feature on all models. The built in microcomputer will automatically terminate the run and sound an alarm when the count down of the selected value is achieved. Each model has constant voltage, constant current, constant power capabilities with automatic cross-over and shows which parameter is kept constant. After a mains power failure the instrument will automatically continue the run for the remaining time. Up to 3600 output values (voltage, current and power, time or volthours) including program number and step can be stored. A free data acquisition software for PC can be downloaded from our website. This software allows to visualize and examine the stored run details via RS232. All power supplies can be controlled by a computer using special commands. The user is protected from potential shock hazard since the AC line is automatically disconnected from the high voltage transformer when a ground leakage path is detected. The instrument is fully protected against any overload condition including accidental short circuit of the output. The high voltage cannot suddenly appear at the outputs. It will always increase smoothly until one of the pre-set limits is reached.

TurboScan Densitometer Software

The new generation of densitometers

Once again Biotec-Fischer is leading the way in modern analysis technology with the digital analysis system TurboScan. No other system offers comparable flexibility and comfort. The TurboScan translates users' expectations of a densitometer into reality. Non-essential gadgets have deliberately been left out. Functionality, reliability and operator comfort are the maxims.

Universal use

In terms of flexibility, TurboScan puts all previous systems in the shade. It allows you to create as many individually generated scan masks as you wish. You can also select as many analysis methods as you wish. No other system offers so many options. In clinical work, for example, you can use TurboScan for analysis in the following applications: serum pro-tein electrophoresis, lipo-protein electrophoresis, haemoglobin elec-trophoresis, Hb-A1 electropho-resis, urine electrophoresis, CSF electro-phoresis, Bence-Jones, iso-enzymes, immuno-fixation, iso-electric focusing, multifractional electrophoresis, blots and lots more. It does not matter wether you carry out your methods on dry or wet cellulose acetate strips, on agarose and on other gels or you work with micro, semi-micro or macro application.

Digital image analys

TurboScan uses the latest digital image analysis technology. The advantages to you are obvious: analysis only takes a fraction of the time and the results obtained are reliable with excellent reproducibi-lity. At the same time TurboScan is based on commercial hardware components. The advantage to you - you can use existing PC hardware and save costs.

Perfect analysis

TurboScan has a very high analysis speed. An A4 page is scanned in only 15 seconds. For the standard template with 64 traces, this means an average scanning speed of of 0.23 seconds per separation. The high resolution guarantees reliable results with excellent reproducibi-lity. The analysis data are clearly presented on the colour monitor. The printout shows all the relevant data in a clear form, starting with the image of separation, the graphs, then the laboratory and patient data through to the results in percentages and absolute figures, the normal ranges and your comments.

Easy to operate

In most laboratories, lack of time is a major problem, so careful attention was paid to this aspect when developing the TurboScan. Despite its flexibility and multiple options, it is therefore simple and comfortable to operate. Even under pressure, you will easily find your way round the TurboScan and sources of error are greatly reduced.

The TurboScan software

The TurboScan software lies at the hart of the system. It reflects more than 20 years' experience in this field of electrophoresis analysis. TurboScan automatically recogni-zes the fractions and assignments present. Each individual separation is automatically coded and every fraction outside the normal range is automatically identified optically. You merely have to look up the result and interpret it. As a matter of course, TurboScan offers you a variety of correction possibilities. You can easily set or delete mini-mums, correct the baseline, curves of graphs or the albumin factor. After any amendment, TurboScan naturally recalculates all the data for you.

With data processing connection

You can easily connect TurboScan to your DP unit via bi-directional RS-232 interface. This guarantees data exchange between TurboScan and your DP equipment.

Delivery details

TurboScan is available as a com-plete system (hardware and soft-ware) or separately. We will be glad to advise on which components would meet your needs.
